A freight train derailment in Union County is significantly disrupting service for riders on the Raritan Valley Line.
Anyone arriving at the Roselle Park train station will immediately notice two NJ Transit Police cars stationed at the front door, signaling the ongoing issue.
Service was completely suspended along the Raritan Valley line following the incident.
However, New Jersey Transit has provided a hopeful update. They announced that hourly service will recommence from Raritan to Cranford starting with the 11:46 a.m. train from Raritan. Limited service will also be in effect to and from High Bridge, the westernmost stop on the line.
Additionally, bus service has been arranged from Cranford to Newark, with stops at Roselle Park and Union.
