A Conrail freight train derailed Tuesday around 7 a.m. in Union Township, causing NJ Transit disruptions.

Conrail officials have confirmed that 20 cars are involved, with several on their side.

According to Conrail, the train was traveling at 30 mph on Track 2 when the derailment occurred. The company reports that Track 2 suffered significant damage as a result of the incident.
