Trains are back in service and close to on schedule as of Saturday morning on the North Jersey Coast Line after overhead wires were knocked down by snow.
The entire North Jersey Coast Line was closed Friday night. The Gladstone branch was also closed.
Both branches have since reopened.
NJ Transit workers were seen working on previously scheduled construction work on Church Road in Middletown to finish a new crossing.
NJ Transit says trains will be running on a single track today as a result, with the northbound track running through the area. Trains will be using the southbound track Sunday.
The crossing should be finished by Sunday, officials say.
Residents say Church Road could be closed until Wednesday because once the rails are down, NJ Transit has to repave the road so that cars can drive on it smoothly.
