New Jersey Transit has announced extra rail and bus service this week as thousands of New Jerseyans prepare to travel for the Fourth of July holiday.
NJ Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule July 3, but with additional “early getaway” service starting at 1:30 p.m. on a variety of rail lines.
All NJ Transit lines will operate on a weekend and holiday schedule for July 4. The agency also notes that beverages of any kind will be prohibited on all trains, buses and light rail cars on Thursday.
NJ Transit will return to a regular weekday schedule for July 5.
