More than two dozen people were treated for injuries when two New Jersey Transit buses crashed at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
Port Authority police say that the crash happened just before 9 a.m. Thursday, on the entrance ramp to the bus station, just outside the Lincoln Tunnel exit.
They say that one of the buses rear-ended the other. One of the buses had a smashed windshield, while the other had a dent in the back.
"This morning's commuter rush hour was interrupted by a rear-end, two-bus crash as the buses were on a ramp from the Lincoln Tunnel to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Port Authority police officers from the PAPD Bus Terminal and Lincoln Tunnel Commands responded and coordinated the transfer of 36 injured passengers and the two drivers to the care of FDNY EMS," Port Authority PBA said in a Facebook post.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is being conducted by the Port Authority Police Department's Commercial Vehicle Inspections Unit.
