Traffic stop in Wildwood leads to major gun bust, police say

A routine traffic stop in Wildwood turned into a major gun investigation over the holiday weekend, according to police.
Wildwood police say officers pulled over a maroon Chrysler on Saturday after observing several motor vehicle violations on Rio Grande Avenue. They say the vehicle's Pennsylvania license plate had been covered with black tape.
Police identified the driver as Donald R. Jones, 18, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Two passengers were also inside the vehicle. They were identified as Maurice L. Bullock Jr., 21, of Exton, Pennsylvania, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Pennsylvania.
During the stop, officers say they spotted a handgun in a crossbody bag that Bullock had taken out of the car.
Police said it was a loaded .45-caliber Glock 21 with a device known as a “switch,” which can make the gun fire like a fully automatic weapon.
Officers also found a 30-round magazine and hollow-point ammunition, according to police.
They then searched the car and found a second loaded handgun, a Taurus 9mm, inside another bag in the front passenger area. Police say that gun had a large-capacity magazine and more ammunition.
Police later learned the Taurus had been reported stolen.
All three people in the car were taken into custody and are facing several weapons charges.
The 17-year-old is also charged with having a gun as a minor.
