If Thanksgiving Day is all about turkey and football on television, the day after is all about shopping, and many New Jersey residents cannot wait to hit the stores.
Some early shoppers stopped off at a Kmart in Woodbridge to find great bargains ahead of Black Friday, while others spent Thanksgiving Day camped out in front of department stores, waiting for the biggest shopping day of the year. Several stores, including Sports Authority, stayed open until 3 p.m. Thursday to accommodate early shoppers.
"It's a good idea that we came out today because I didn't realize that so many people would come out," says shopper Deborah McDaniel.
Analysts say because of the economic crisis, this Black Friday retailers will boost their discounts by 21 percent compared with 2007.
