(AP) - New Jersey will offer free swine flu shots to the state's 1.3 million uninsured.
Gov. Jon Corzine made the announcement in Newark Thursday as thestate prepares for an expected spike in swine flu cases in thecoming months.
Corzine says the vaccine will be covered by health insurers forthose who are insured.
Shots for the H1N1 virus are still being tested, but the vaccineis expected to be shipped to New Jersey at the end of the month orin early October.
Corzine says the goal is to keep schools and workplaces open.
New York City is offering free swine flu vaccinations to its1-million-plus schoolchildren.
New Jersey recently received $16 million from the federalgovernment to help combat pandemic influenza.
