(AP) - A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 22years in federal prison for committing carjackings in Burlingtonand Camden counties and an armed bank robbery.
Thirty-seven-year-old William Berger of Moorestown was sentencedFriday in U.S. District Court in Camden.
Berger pleaded guilty in June to two counts of carjacking, onecount of bank robbery and a weapons charge.
He admitted to two carjackings in December 2008. Prosecutors sayhe brandished a gun and a knife to force women he confronted inshopping center parking lots to give up their car keys. He wasarrested in Cherry Hill shortly after the second carjacking.
Berger also admitted that he carried a handgun when he robbed aLiberty Bank branch in Moorestown of about $1,300 on Dec. 15, 2008.
