Ten of New Jersey's servicemen and woman were honored at Drumthwacket Monday and presented with $5,000 scholarships.
New Jersey first lady Mary Pat Christie presented the "Heart of a Hero" scholarships as part of her "New Jersey Heroes" campaign. The money will help advance post-secondary education or vocational training for the recipients.
Mrs. Christie established the program as an additional means to help New Jersey's military men and women make their higher education and career goals a reality.
The servicemen and women are from all branches of the military and are completing their education at New Jersey universities
