As students at Virginia Tech begin the healing process from this week?s massacre, students at Caldwell College lent their support with a prayer service Thursday where the name of each victim was read aloud.
For some at the college, the massacre hit home.
Sandy Rock, who works at the college, says her son is a senior at Virginia Tech. She is more than grateful that her son was not one of the 32 victims of the shootings.
?I cannot imagine the nightmare that other parents are living at this time,? said Rock.
Meanwhile, Caldwell College President Sister Patrice Werner is trying to bring comfort to concerned students and faculty, as she grapples with campus security.
?There?s no way we can lock out our communities. There?s no way we can put bars on our doors,? Werner said.
Rutgers University is also reaching out to Virginia Tech students. The school has offered to find counseling services for students from New Jersey who will be home during the summer.
