New Jersey Blood Services has joined a national emergency plea for blood donors.
The agency says that its inventory is extremely low due to dropped donor turnout, recent bad weather and a spike in seasonal illness.
New Jersey Blood Services says there is only a one- or two-day supply of certain blood types and a critical shortage of platelets at the moment.
