Police ID man killed in lightning strike at Cub Scout event in Jackson

Jackson police identified the victim as 61-year-old Robert Montgomery, of Cinnaminson.

A lightning strike at an outdoor archery range in Jackson has left one man dead and more than a dozen others injured.
The incident happened just before 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Black Knights Bow Benders range, where members of Cub Scout Pack 204 were gathered.
Jackson police identified the victim as 61-year-old Robert Montgomery, of Cinnaminson.
Fourteen others, including children as young as 7, were also injured. One person was knocked unconscious but later regained consciousness.
Injuries ranged from burns to general pain and discomfort. One victim was taken to the Livingston Burn Center for treatment.
Police said the lightning strike occurred as storms moved through the area.
The circumstances of how the group was struck have not yet been released.
