Pink water is coming out of the faucets in some New Jersey homes – mainly in Bridgewater. But there is no need to be concerned.

New Jersey American Water says that the color is from a chemical used at the Raritan Millstone Treatment Plant. Officials with the company say the water is safe to drink. They also say customers may want to avoid doing their laundry for the moment.

New Jersey American Water will be flushing the system to clear out the color. It may result in low pressure and more discoloration.
