Hundreds of elementary students filled the seats of Red Bull Arena in Harrison today for the annual Weather Education Day.
More than 600 students from eight separate North Jersey schools learned the science of weather through a variety of demonstrations. Presenters said in-field experiences like this will enhance their educational interests.
“I think they’re giving the kids an opportunity to learn and do it hands-on, and not so much just sitting in a classroom in a traditional way. I think they're really helping the kids by bringing them out here,” said event host Jenna Lemonceli.
The event featured mad science performer, former New York Red Bulls goalie Luis Robles and an appearance from News 12’s Lauren Due and Thunderbolt 12.
