Newark is set to close certain streets, all leading into the East Ward, to try to control the spread of COVID-19.

The closures will happen from 8 p.m. through 3 a.m. tonight and Saturday.

Residents who live in the affected area, namely in the zip code 07105, will be allowed to travel to address essential needs.

Proof of residency or proof that an essential need is being addressed will be required.
