A restaurant in Newark is closing down for the weekend after a big fight caused a major disturbance in the neighborhood.
The Patio Lounge, located on 40-68 Wilson Ave., will be closed from today through Monday on order of the Alcohol Beverage Control.
The decision came after investigators saw video last weekend of a brawl outside the restaurant.
Neighbors seemed to support the move
"You come to bring your family here to this restaurant over the weekend and there it is you've got to worry about something happening to you or a loved one,” says Jesus Vazquez. “That's not fair."
According to the city, police responded to fights at the location four times since January.
The Lounge was given a summons for being a nuisance.
Patio Lounge’s owner did not wish to comment on the situation.
According to its Facebook page, the restaurant holds events and live music, and held a Cinco de Mayo program last weekend.
