Newark ranked as worst city for renters in new Forbes report

A new report by Forbes casted the largest city in New Jersey as the worst place for renters.
More than half the households in Newark are considered “rent-burdened” (56%) and smaller-than-average unit sizes contributed to its ranking, according to the report.
This means residents spend more than 30% of their income on rent. The average rent for a one bedroom is about $1,350.
New York City ranked as the sixth worst for renters. The report says it may be hard to find rentals with amenities in NYC as it ranked in the bottom three in the laundry, dishwasher, parking and gym availability metrics.
As for best cities for renters, Chandler, Arizona, took the No. 1 spot.
