The Newark Police Department arrested a woman who was accused of stealing a car with a 3-year-old boy inside earlier this week.

Shanita Rose, 40, is facing multiple charges, including carjacking and kidnapping.

Police say that on Halloween morning, Rose stole a 2017 Hyundai Sonata parked on the 100 block of Wilson Avenue. Police say the boy was left inside while his father ran into his place of employment to pick up something.

The theft prompted an Amber Alert and a massive search by law enforcement.

The car and the boy were found about two hours after in Jersey City. The boy was not hurt.
