A school bus collided with a car in Newark Wednesday morning, according to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Muhammad Ali Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Fragé says eight students were transported to University Hospital for evaluation of complaints of pain and others were transported to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for general evaluation. No life-threatening injuries have been reported.
Sixteen students between the ages of 6 and 11 years old were on the bus at the time, Fragé says.
The bus also hit a parked car during the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
