New X-ray machines at Newark Liberty International Airport are giving screeners a much clearer picture of carry-on luggage.
The new technology allows screeners to use multiple angles, rotate and zoom in on the image. Previously, they were only able to use one top-down view.
The machines could help expedite security screenings at the airport. The ability to get different views of luggage potentially could slash the amount of times a physical search is needed.
