Newark streets flooded by heavy rain Tuesday have mostly cleared, but more rain expected Wednesday could cause them to flood again.

Some of the worst flooding in the Brick City was near the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Avenue L. Emergency crews were forced to close the street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. It was reopened just after 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Newark fire crews were called to rescue a man from his car after it became struck in the flood.

One Newark resident tells News 12 New Jersey that she was forced to clear out the storm drains near her business to prevent some flooding.

Newark saw about 2 inches of rain Tuesday. New Jersey could see at least 1 more inch of rain for Wednesday.
