(01/01/08) ELIZABETH ? Residents in Elizabeth are starting the new year with grim news after a man was shot and died at a local hospital.
The shots were fired before dawn near Jackson Park along Broadway. The victim, 23-year-old Lafayette Moore, of East Orange, was rushed to Trinitas Hospital where he later died.
Many in Elizabeth are still dealing with the shooting death of 13-year-old Elijah Henderson that took place in November. Several people who live in the area say unfortunately, violence is becoming a way of life in Elizabeth.
