New Jersey truckers head to Washington for rally against COVID-19 restrictions
A convoy of truckers rallying against COVID-19 restrictions and vaccine requirements will be making their way throughout the Garden State this weekend as they head to Washington, D.C.
News 12’s Keith Kocinski was in Riverdale where he spoke to Raymond Zachmann, one of the leaders of the New jersey Trucker Convoy.
He said the convoy’s purpose is to put pressure “on our representatives to do away with the Emergency Powers Act.” He said that their protest will be peaceful.
The group is expected to travel south to the New Egypt Speedway for the night, then proceed to the Salem County Fairgrounds.
Trucker convoys last month in Canada caused major traffic disruptions and even supply chain issues in Canada and the U.S.
