Trooper Charles Marchan, of the New Jersey State Police, is offering road safety advice for the increasingly cold and icy weather conditions.
“Temperatures quickly dropping results in a lot of black ice, which might appear to be just a wet roadway, but at any given moment you might hit a patch of black ice and things can turn bad,” he says.
He encourages drivers to be cautious on the road and to practice safety measures.
“Allow plenty of stopping distance. Try to avoid breaking too quickly in these types of conditions," he says.
