Light snow fell across parts of North Jersey Saturday, leaving a coating on roads, lawns and sidewalks in some communities.
Morris County crews have been out salting roads throughout the county before another storm system pushes through the region on Sunday.
Emergency management officials are urging drivers to remain cautious and prepared.
“This is not anything new. We have great road crews — they know what to do,” said Jeffrey Paul, director of the Morris County Office of Emergency Management. “It’s really about informing the public and not taking chances driving on roadways. They’re going to be slippery. Make sure you’re prepared for the conditions, get a full tank of gas, and make sure everybody’s ready for some snow.”
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and avoid unnecessary trips if possible.
