New Jersey residents across the state enjoyed the warm, spring-like weather Sunday with outdoor activities and events.
The Polar Bear Races, an annual event held in Asbury Park for the last 45 years, took place Sunday afternoon and runners were pleased with the temperature, despite their tradition of embracing frigid cold. The race, which is always the last weekend in December, has been held in snow, sleet and rain in past years.
Residents in Ocean Grove celebrated the burst of warm weather by eating outdoors, opening their windows and taking walks outside.
Many who participated in the Polar Bear Races said they planned to take a swim in the ocean after the run.
