(AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey man killed himself after shooting his girlfriend and her son in Gloucester County.
The county prosecutor's office says the shooting occurred early Friday in Monroe Township.
Robert Long apparently fatally shot himself after an argument with the woman.
Police responding to reports of shots fired found the 48-year-old's body inside a house.
The woman had been in a romantic relationship with Long. Police believe the two argued and a physical altercation ensued Thursday night, and Long left the house.
He apparently returned at approximately 1:30 a.m. while the woman was sleeping and fired twice at her, hitting her in the torso and grazing her head. The second bullet hit the boy in the hand.
Both are expected to survive.
