New drunk driving laws to go into effect in New Jersey
New drunk driving laws will be going into effect in New Jersey Sunday.
The law gets rid of license suspensions for first-time offenders with a blood alcohol level below .15%.
Once convicted, those drivers will have to keep an ignition lock on their car for three months, and blow into it every time they want to start the engine.
First-time offenders over .15% could still get their license suspended for four to six months.
They must also install an ignition lock for an additional nine to 15 months after that.
