Wishing for a shorter workweek?

A new bill is set to be introduced to the U.S. Senate today that would establish a 32-hour work week across the country with no loss in pay. It's being introduced by three democratic lawmakers, including Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Sanders stated in a press release, “Today, American workers are over 400% more productive than they were in the 1940s. And yet, millions of Americans are working longer hours for lower wages than they were decades ago. That has got to change.”

In a study of companies with four-day work weeks, Forbes reported a 35% revenue increase year over year and 57% fewer staff left during the experiment.

Opponents of the four-day workweek say it would increase scheduling challenges and add stress on higher-level employees.
