Homeless residents of a tent city in Neptune Township say that they are struggling to keep warm this winter.
About 10 people live in tents in a wooded area in the town.
The body of a man in his 60s was found badly burned next to a campfire two weeks ago. Friends tell News 12 New Jersey that the man suffered a medical condition and was then burned by the fire.
“The help needs to be coming to these people out here, because if not, there’s going to be more tragedies,” says tent city resident Carlos. “It’s very hard for them.”
Carlos says that he and his friends stay alive thanks to lots of blankets and propane heaters for their tents.
