Two Monmouth County teenagers have admitted their roles in the death of their newborn baby whose dead body was tossed into an outdoor trash bin.

Eighteen-year-old Jada McClain of Neptune pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated manslaughter by pressing on the chest of her newborn son until he stopped breathing. Nineteen-year-old Quaimere Mohammed, also of Neptune, pleaded guilty to disturbing or desecrating human remains.

Authorities say that McClain, a Neptune High School student, had become pregnant sometime in July 2018 and hid the pregnancy from her parents. The baby was born on March 29, 2019. McClain killed the child soon after he was born, according to authorities.

Surveillance video later showed Mohammed disposing of the baby’s remains in a dumpster in Asbury Park. Those remains were never recovered.

Under the terms of a plea bargain, McClain faces 10 years in prison, and Mohammed faces five. They are to be sentenced on March 20.
