Trenton officials say that nearly 50 dogs were rescued from a home in deplorable conditions.
A post on the Trenton Animal Shelter news Facebook page said that the 47 dogs were in need of medical care, but were safe when they were rescued Tuesday.

The dogs were being treated for malnourishment and dehydration.
Homeowner James Marshall is facing animal cruelty charges.
The shelter is looking for donations for medical costs and for people to foster the dogs.
