In compliance with contractual obligations, the Navy plans to give 300 empty homes on the Naval Earle Weapons Station back to the builder so they can be rented by the public.

Residents in Colts Neck are concerned that the invitation to live so closely to a military facility could attract terrorists to their community. Assemblywoman Carolyn Casagrande was upset by one clause in the contract which states the Navy ?must allow unimpeded access to tenants and anyone who comes to visit.?

?I'm very frightened from a security point that I would no longer feel secure if there was an unimpeded access road,? says Casagrande.

The Navy says people will have access to the homes, but nothing more adding that a fence will be built separating the housing development from the more sensitive areas.

The Navy can not release any more information about its plan until an environmental impact report is released. Officials say the fight is expected to press on.

The Naval Earle Weapons Station is the largest ammunition storage facility in the country.
