New Jersey’s first Muslim police chief is now on administrative leave.
Ahmed Naga is on leave weeks after he said he intends to sue Long Hill Township over alleged discrimination and racism in the workplace. The official reason for his leave was not publicly announced.
Naga’s lawyer said they submitted audio recordings of a township committee member saying the chief has been called derogatory and racist names.
At the moment, Naga is banned from entering all township buildings and contacting anyone in the police department.
