There will be music and dancing in the streets of New Brunswick on Saturday at the New Brunswick Heart Festival.
The free festival features performing and visual artists. It began as a virtual event during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. There was a hybrid festival in 2021. This is the first fully in-person festival.
"I feel like the rubber band has kind of been pulled back and now we're just going to shoot out," says festival co-founder Dontae Muse, owner of Above Art Studios in New Brunswick.
The festival will take place on Livingston Avenue from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in front of the State Theatre and the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, which are presenters of the festival along with the New Brunswick Cultural Center.
There is also a block party on Morris Street outside Above Art Studios featuring games and events for families.
