A convicted murderer and rapist from Toms River was released from South Wood State Prison in South Jersey Saturday after serving most of his sentence.
Barbara Renee Harrison was raped and murdered by Shawn Milne on Garfield Avenue in 1985. She was 13-years-old. Milne left Harrison's body in Goose Creek.
Harrison's brother, Frank, was told in July that Milne was going to be released after 30 years on good behavior. His original sentence was for 50 years.
"It's not fair for us," Frank Harrison said. "He could be walking down the street or sitting across from a restaurant and just enjoying himself."
Milne will have to register as a sex offender. So far, his family, which is believed to still be living in New Jersey, has not said anything of his release and where he would be living.
