If you're looking to toss your holiday tree as you purge for the new year, have no fear Mulchfest is here.
According to NYC Parks, the New York City tradition is an effort to make the city greener.
Last year, the Parks Department reported that it mulched over 40,000 trees! This has helped grow more trees and increase soil fertility.
There are multiple locations in the Bronx where you can bring your tree to “tree-cycle” them. You can also keep a “treemento” if you're attached to it and you can go home with a bag of mulch on Jan. 11!
Locations vary across the Bronx, there are some where you can only drop off the trees and specific ones where you can get them chipped to take home a bag of mulch. Some of the locations include:
