New Jersey American Water announced that additional testing confirms the water meets state and federal drinking standards.

This update comes after residents in three counties reported changes in the smell and taste of their water on Tuesday morning.

Union Township officials are collaborating with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to determine if further action is necessary. In the meantime, hydrant flushing will continue.

It's worth noting that this issue is unrelated to the Union water main break.
