There are four weeks until the fall equinox, but we're just hours away from the return of fall-like temperatures. This week will feature yet another spree of temperatures in the 70s and very low 80s. Humidity will improve as a front passes through overnight leading to crisper, cooler days.
Parts of our borough could still see near the 80s for Tuesday temperatures. We continue through Friday, with temperatures in the higher 70s at the warmest and lower 60s at the coolest. It will be great weather for opening up the windows overnight and letting in refreshing air. Give those air conditioners a break! Especially overnight.
We remain dry and sunny for a good chunk of this week. The earliest next chance of rain isn't until Friday, but the next week looks excellent for outdoor weather and plans. Be mindful of rip currents, risks remain moderate throughout Tuesday. A sneak peek at Labor Day Weekend has dry, cool, and very pleasant conditions!
As nice as this rain free spree is, especially during the last few moments of summer, we have fallen back into a moderate drought in our borough.
The Autumn Equinox is on Sept. 22 this year. That's the astronomical start of fall! The unofficial start of fall is next week- with Labor Day just a week from today. Weatherwise, we get a nice taste of fall for the last week of summer before kids go back to school. meteorological fall starts on Labor Day as well on Sept. 1!
