The MTA board approved funding for a new LIRR station at the new Belmont Park Arena.
The MTA's LIRR committee voted earlier this week to approve the $65 million contract for the station's design and construction.

Officials say they will be reimbursed by the state and the developer of the new Islanders' arena.
The station is set to open in October of next year with all work completed by the end of 2022.
