The heat was on for Thursday with highs in the upper-80s and low-90s. Winds changed direction and are out of the west, which helped suppress the sea breeze a bit. Despite the warm weather, this was not record-breaking heat. The record for Newark was 92 degrees in 2001.
Winds come back onshore for tomorrow and high temperatures will only reach the 60s. The coast will see temperatures in the 50s. The clouds will also roll in and add to the cooler feel as well.
