Residents in Morristown are gearing up for "First Night," an annual New Year's Eve celebration.
"We hope it's going to be just as spectacular of an evening as it always is," says Volunteer Chairwoman Debbie Williams.
First Night, an alcohol-free gathering, has been a tradition in the town for more than a decade. Other areas hosting similar celebrations have had less success and many have had to discontinue the events. "I just don't think you can generate that much participation and sponsorship in a smaller town," says Williams.
Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Rio Clemente and the reggae band No Discipline is among those slated to provide the evening's entertainment. No Discipline returns after rave reviews from last year.
