An early morning storm tore through areas of New Jersey Wednesday, leaving outages and localized property damage in its wake.
Residents in Harrington Park were left to clean up downed trees and power lines.
For one Harrington Park family, the damage was almost too much to bear. Fallen trees destroyed a car belonging to Pamela Keller?s daughter and also damaged her home.
Despite the damage, Keller says it?s important that her family is safe.
Orange and Rockland Utilities says only a handful of customers were without power by the late evening, down from 1,000 earlier in the day. No injuries have been reported.
Officials are pleased with the way the situation was handled.
"I'm just amazed at how effective [utility crews] were in this whole operation," says Mayor Paul Hoelscher.
