The Corzine campaign is levying new accusations accusing Republican Chris Christie of enjoying excessive travel on the taxpayer's dime as a U.S. attorney.
Gov. Jon Corzine's administration accuses Christie of receiving mileage reimbursement for driving he did to awards dinners, a political dinner-dance and speaking engagements - including one given to a conservative anti-tax group. He was also reimbursed for a Mets-Phillies game.
Christie argues the appearances were part of official duties. Corzine's camp disagrees.
"Christie [was] driving around the state to promote himself and sticking taxpayers with the tab," says Corzine spokesperson Sean Darcy.
