Montvale police are asking residents to keep an eye on children and pets after a report of a fox bite early Tuesday.

Residents are urged to be aware of foxes and keep their distance.

The fox was seen in the northeastern corner of town, but officials say it may travel.

This comes after a couple of coyote attacks in Bergen County. In at least one instance, a coyote tested positive for rabies. It is unclear whether the fox in Montvale is rabid.
