Police in Monroe Township recently took a particularly slow-moving suspect into custody after a brief pursuit.
That suspect, a loose tortoise, was found wandering near Church and Academy streets on Monday.
The tortoise was safely recovered by officers, who are now looking to reunite their shelled friend with its owner.
Anyone with information about where the tortoise may have escaped from is asked to contact the Monroe Township Police Department or the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
