An owner and operator of a Monmouth County day care center is going to prison.
Sylvia Broderick will spend three years in state prison for providing faulty contracts for workers who didn't exist.
She collected more than $40,000 from the Asbury Park Board of Education for submitting expenses for a janitor who didn't work at her facility.
As part of her sentence, Broderick is barred from conducting contracts or bids in New Jersey for 20 years.
