A convicted child molester who went missing last week has been found and arrested.
Bridgewater police received a tip that Paul Timmendequas was seen fishing off at a reservoir in town. Officers responded and arrested him.
He was then taken into custody by members of the New Jersey State Parole Board and is currently in the Middlesex County Jail.
Timmendequas was reported missing on May 26 after he failed to check in with his parole officer. He was wearing an ankle monitor at the time, but law enforcement officials were unable to track it.
Timmendequas was convicted in 1999 of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and a juvenile family member while they were all were living in the same home.
His brother, Jesse, was convicted of sexually assaulting and killing Megan Kanka in 1994, which led to the introduction of Megan's Law.
