2h agoThe missing R in Rockaway’s iconic “Seasons Greetings” sign has been located after a weekslong search.
The sign near the Main Street Bridge was put up in December for the first time in 12 years.
A strong storm made the R drop into the water, prompting Rockaway residents to conduct a search for the missing letter.
News 12 is told a resident managed to track down the R and safely remove it from the Rockaway River.
It is currently unclear if the town will put the sign back up.
